Taylor's all-new American Dream Series gives players high-quality, yet affordable entry-level acoustics made of all solid wood. This particular model, the AD17E, features a Grand Pacific body that's made of a Spruce top with Ovangkol back and sides, finished in Blacktop. The Ovangkol lays a rock-solid tonal foundation with plenty of low-end and midrange definition to balance out the crystalline highs of the spruce top. And with chamfered edge trim, it's always comfortable in your hands. The American Dream Series acoustics also feature Taylor's revolutionary new V-Class Bracing system, which enhances their natural sustain, projection, and resonance. And thanks to the Expression System Plus, every tonal nuance of this acoustic is faithfully translated when plugged in. And with the included high-quality Aerocase, it's easy to keep it safe and sound. Take your next step forward in your acoustic guitar journey with Taylor's American Dream AD17E!

This is an early Sixties Japanese made D-18 clone with X-bracing, and the sought-after trade name "Lyle".  The guitar has been completely set-up, and is ready to play.  And this guitar has been bundled with a new case.
As with many of the craftmanship-intensive Japanese-made clones, this guitar straight from the factory had excellent tonal quality, and played like a dream, rivaling and even exceeding the quality of Martin guitars of the same vintage.  This guitar has been recently set-up, and is ready to play, just as it did when it was new, even better.
This guitar measures 40 inches top to bottom.  The lower bout is 15 inches wide.  The body length is 18 and 5/8ths inches.  The body depth is narrow, at 3 and 7/8ths inches at its widest point, and 3 and 1/8th at its thinnest.  This guitar is a comfortable full size guitar.
The length from the nut to the saddle is 25 and 5/8ths.  This guitar has a "zero" fret.  Measured from the zero fret, to the saddle, this guitar is 25 and 1/2 inches.
(Look at the pictures.)  The tuners are forged steel, as in the old style, strong, and, durable.  These tuners are fifty-plus years old, and still working perfectly.
The headstock boasts a two-piece colorful abalone inlay.
The belly bulge common to all these older style guitars has been professionally addressed and permanently corrected.
When this guitar was set-up the action and intonation were set-up better than most new guitars sold today.  An intonation-adjusted saddle has replaced the original straight saddle.
