Colling’s smallestmodel is a rarity among fractional size guitars: most listeners never guessthat it’s not a full-size instrument unless they see it being played. Whilelacking the deep bass of larger guitars the tone is remarkably balanced, withadequate volume for most applications. The Collings Baby is approximately a ¾size version of our OM, 12 ½ inches wide in the lower bout with a
24 ⅛ inch scale, andthe headstock and bridge are scaled to match. Sometimes the Baby is used as atravel guitar, but it often sees duty as a songwriter’s tool, the guitar that’sready at a moment’s notice and can be played while seated in any position. Likeother Collings acoustic models, the Baby Series is available in a variety oftonewoods and appointments.
This model featuresbrilliant spruce top, which looks closer to Adirondack, but is actually Sitka, Ebony bridge and fingerboard. Nut width is 1-11/16" with a beautiful Brazilian rosewood headstock veneer with MOP Collings logo. Gold Waverly tuners and an Abalone rosette.
Pre-war scalloped X-brace and 25 1/2" scale length.
This guitar has been babied and has always been stored in it's original TLK hardcase in a constant 50% humidity. It has a professionally
installed L.R. Baggs Anthem-SL Acoustic Guitar Pickup.
