Epiphone Don Everly SQ180 2003 Black. Condition is "Seller refurbished".
Rare artist guitar. EB is “Everly Brothers” and marked accordingly. Star inlays on the rosewood fretboard look amazing in person! Spruce top, solid maple back and sides, mahogany neck, Grover tuners, & mustache pick guard. Upgraded with bone nut and saddle installed, and Martin bridge pins. Neck is straight and truss rod in-tact, fully functional, with room to adjust in either direction.
This guitar had a broken neck and crack across the back. I will describe the condition as best I can.
Guitar has been repaired and plays well; sounds great. Note: this is an Epiphone, not a high-end Gibson or Martin. In new condition they don’t sound as good as a USA made Gibson or Martin.
Neck and back crack have been repaired, repainted and sprayed with poly. Paint and wood finish is NOT PERFECT. I tried to photo best I could but don’t expect perfection. Back has some striping and visual bump/line where crack was. You can feel a slight lip on the binding where the fretboard meets the neck wood, but does not feel through when I play. Neck is smooth and straight but has some minor impressions making it imperfect. I resanded part of the neck and did not cover with paint below the finish, so that’s what you see from the lines in the top 1/3 of neck. I liked the blemish since the guitar is 18 years old and I felt shouldn’t look new. You can see glue on inside where it was rebraced.
Given the condition and demand, as this is the only I see for sale in the USA, I’m posting at half the price of what’s out there.
Selling as-is and do not have a case to include. CONUS shipping only.

    What makes this guitar special:
In 1997 I ordered this guitar directly over the phone from Bob Taylor, who told me he designed it for himself. It's a delightful dreadnought with wonderful clarity & a bright, snappy voice. In great shape -- with a rich tone built over the 24+ years that its wood has seasoned over time. Played occasionally - every few years - by me, the original owner -- who never got
good enough to play often. It's time to give it up.
    Cosmetic Condition:
Great shape overall, but has a few nicks, cracks, & surface scratches. Laminate cracking over a few inches on one side (see last photo) & surface crack on top made me bring it into the best music store in town where their head guitar specialist said it's cosmetic and that nothing needs fixing.
    Neck:
Slender profile mahogany neck with ivoroid binding & black side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays. Frets are in great shape with hardly any wear. Bound headstock with Gold Grover Rotomatic tuners in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
    Body:
Solid Sitka Spruce top. Ebony bridge & end pins with abalone dot inlays. Tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides with single-ply binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 5.4 oz.
    Case:
    Original hardshell case included.
