1976 Ovation Custom Balladeer Guitar 1612-1

Description

I am selling my trusty 1976 Ovation guitar. I am the 2nd owner and have had the instrument since 1985. This is the 1612-1 Custom Balladeer model and is serial # 065720. Not a cosmetically perfect guitar, but one that is fun to play both acoustically and plugged in.
I have just replaced the bridge saddle and did a set up on it. Plays great with one caveat...there is a dead fret on the high E string at the 15th fret. Unless you are playing solos up there, this isn't an issue, but you could also take it in and have that fret checked out to make it perfect. There is a fresh 9 volt battery in the guitar and I've tested it today thru an amp. That classic plugged in Ovation sound.

Beautiful Vintage 1972 Yamaha FG160 tan label. Natural authentic relic condition with a beautiful vintage patina. Lots of honest play wear. The original owner was a dedicated flatpicker and the flatpick areas have worn into the wood of the body. The guitar plays nicely, straight neck, with medium low action, truss rod works perfectly. The neck shape is the wonderful full vintage FG profile that makes these guitars feel so inspiring. The action represented in the photo of the 12th fret on the low E string. The bridge saddle has nice
height. The guitar sounds fantastic, with a deep rich complex
tone. There are scratches, indentations and play wear on the body and neck. Non original hard shell case fits the guitar perfectly. If considering purchase , please check any applicable sales tax in advance.
